On January 3rd you will able to order from the new Occasions Mini Catalog. So as you are making up your New Year's Stampin' Up! list I have a video for you to watch.

I have had stampers ask me the difference between wood mount (noted W) and clear mount (noted C). When I first started with Stampin' Up! there was only wood mount. So when the clear was introduced I had to try them to let my stampers know my opinion.

Here is a great video produced by SU which not only explains the differences but how to make cards.

Now you ask me if I am a complete convert. Let's just say my stamping friends that my clear collection is growing. I am not a straight stamper so being able to see where I am placing my words & phrases is nice.

No stamping this time. Victory Junction Gang Camp was founded by Kyle & Patti Petty in honor of the son, Adam, who whose killed at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in 2001. The camp is in Randleman NC & it is for chronically/terminally ill children to come in the Spring/Summer for a week of camping fun free of charge to the family. When they arrive there is a stuffed animaI on every bed and they take that home with them at the end of the week. So you can imagine how many stuffed animaIs they go through in a year!!!! I am also an Independent AVON Sale Representative and working on a Gift in Kind project to purchase where you can donate $21.78 for the purchase of one of these cute stuffed Willie the White Tiger with your name on it as the donor. I know times are hard; but, lets remember the children this holiday so they will have a good camp next year. If you would like to donate please enail me & I will be glad to tell you how. Christmas Hot Choclate Pac Holder

For some of us the cold nights have already visited us and may have already had some hot chocolate. Today is beautiful and warm so not thinking of any hot drink. You may remember this design from earlier in the year. This time I incorporated it for Christmas and put a hot chocolate pac inside (it could be coffee or tea bags). Christmas Bells

As you can see I love this stamp set. It is called Bells and Boughs in the Holiday Mini. The Designer paper Deck the Halls is also amazing. I used the ScallopTrim Border Punch (118402) and then added the 2 way glue pen to the scallops then sprinkled it with gold glitter from the Fine Galaxy Glitter Pack (114286). The cardstock used is Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, and Always Artichoke. Attahced a small bow from the 1/8" Early Espresso Taffeta Ribbn (119959).

French Foliage

To be honest I did not like this stamp set in the 2010/2011 Idea Book; but after seeing so many cards made with it, it grew on me. Actually I cased this from my upline. Here I used the stamp set French Foliage and paired it with the Day of Gratitude set for the sentiment and the Finial Press Embossing folder. The colors used for cardstock and ink are: Peach Parfait, Always Artichoke, Crumb Cake, Vary Vanilla, and Early Espresso.

Patch Work Pumpkin

I found this cute card in one of my magazines it was a little harder than I thought what with cutting out the pumpkin patches and then pieces together. All of the products used are Stampin' Up!. The cardstock used was Very Vanilla, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, and Autumn Spice DSP from the Holiday Mini. The pumpkin and ribbon (Rich Razzleberry Grosgrain) are scraps and the leaf is from the French Foliage set stamped with Old Olive Classic ink, cut out, adhered with a brad. Actually it looks better than I thought!!

Vintage Cards

These are 2 cards using the same design and colors but for 2 different occasions.

This first I made for my sister-in-law's b'day party tomorrow. Running the Blushing Bride layer through the Big Shot using the Manhattan embossing folder punched the left edge with the Scallop Edge punch. I then dragged the Whisper White Craft ink pad so the flower would be accentuated--make sure this is dry before going onto the next step. The sentiment (Decorative Labels) is stamped onto Sahara Sand cardstock using Perfect Plum ink. Punched with the Oval Scallop punch, sponged the edges with Perfect Plum ink and added a little paper knot of the Perfect Plum cardstock using a Mini Glue Dot-a mini Basic Pearl sits a top the knot. The finishing touches include some Victorian trim. The inside stamp is Sweet Birthday stamped in Perfect Plum ink on Sahara Sand. I tore the right edge and again sponged the edges. I spritzed the entire card with some Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz to give it a glimmery look.

This card I have decided to make for my Christmas cards (I better get started now!). I ran the Blushing Bride layer through the Big Shot using the new Northern Flurry embossing folder, the sentiment is Bells and Boughs set punched with the new Decrorative Label punch. Add a few random Basic Pearls in the center of the snowflakes. All of these items are in the New Holiday Mini. I hope you like and Happy Stampin' until we stamp again, Lynette

Cottage Wall Desk Set

Ok I made this little set for myself. I just love the retired Cottage Wall DSP. I wanted something to hold a pad and business cards. I also used Rich Razzleberry cardstock. Front of pad holder is using both sides of a piece of the Cottage Wall. The business cardholder is a cassette tape holder (remember them?) picked it up at Goodwill for 50 cents-threw the tape away-turned backwards. The ribbon is Whisper White satin. Buttons had on hand. Tall Tales Baby Card

My nephew and his wife just had a baby boy so of course I had to make the card!!! And it had to say little boy!! I had this piece of Tall Tales DSP that was cut just about perfect and the ribbon is also scraps (as you see save your scraps). Using the new colors to coordinate I think it turned out pretty good. The card recipe is: Cardstock- Early Expresson, Cajun Craze, Whisper White, and Tall Tales DSP, Classic Ink-Cajun Craze and Brilliant Blue (retired), Stamp Sets-Warm Words (retired), Whimiscal Words, and Picture This, Neutral Brads, Pumpkin Pie Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon and Brilliant Blue 1/4" Grograin Ribbon (both retired), and last the Scallop Oval Extra Large Punch. Hokie fans this is for you!!!! Using SU's Pumpkin Pie and Night of Navy cardstock made these cute little assignment and memo books. The VT paper I had on hand. The assignment folder is the same concept as the Christmas Planner below. The small memo book is a small hard bound composition book covered. Christmas Notepad Holder

This would make the perfect teacher or gift for anyone on your list. No stamping required!! We were to have made this at our Saturday meeting but I had to leave before so our hostess was kind enough to guive me the pieces to make it. I am going to try to guess at the SU supplies used. Bashful Blue, Real Red, and Candy Cane DSP (Holiday Mini) cardstock. The snowflakes are Northern Frost (Holiday Mini--picture in catalog does not do them justice). The buttons are some both her and I had. She typed the words out on her printer onto the cardstock. Red dots are made from Glitz (not sure of spelled right). The inside holds a 5x8 legal pad with the inside cover having a pocket to hold those important Christmas recipes. For the complete instructions see michellewooderson.blogspot.com. Witch's Brew

Getting in the Halloween mood? If your kids (or you) are having a Halloween party and need party favors here is one that will make all the other mothers think you spent a spook full of money on. We did this Saturday at our SU group meeting. Take can (this is a 16 oz) spray it any colour (use Krylon) and let dry. If you are going to put in food, please use a baggie to be on the safe side with the paint.

Cut all pieces the same length. The main can wrap wide enough to cover your can then attach using 2-sided tape. Second wrap about 2" wide attach with 2-sided tape (I found that works better than sticky strip or snail) what looks like the back of can line. To make the flower, cut strip about 1 1/2" wide used the Scallop Edge Border Punch #119882 and punch the whole length. Go back and cut just between the scallops and then fold like a fan. Attach end to end on the side that you don't want to show making a circle. Flip over and close up as tight as you can get it using a glue gun put a dollop in the center to hold (mini glue dots won't hold) shut attach to can. Stamp your image on Whipser White CS, sponge edges with Classic Black Ink, using the Decorative Label Punch #12097 (Holiday Mini), colour in if want to and attach to flower. Handle is attached by centering on can and punching out with your Crop-A-Dile and the rhinestone brads. You can make these for any occasion. Hope you enjoy. OK, can you believe that Summer is almost over? School starts back here in about two weeks!!!!! So for one last blast of summer (before Christmas cards are made) here is a card that makes you think just laying baack in the hammockand a big glass of iced cold lemonade. My upline made this using retired cardstock so I revamped with current SU colors. It is a beginner as far as skill level but using some of the techniques and punches takes a little more time. My beginning stampers made it in our stamp club. I used my Big Shot for the first time. Here is the card receipe:

Punches: 1 1/4" Circle, 1 3/8" Circle, Large Oval, Small Oval

Because I Care Hydrangea

I loved this card. The colors where for Stampin' 411 (So Saffron, Old Olive, and Certainly Celery) couple of weeks ago and this was the sample card.  Start with the base layer So Saffron cardstock.  Certainly Celery layer is stamped all over with the hydrangea image from the Level 1 Hostess Set in SU's new 2010/2011 Idea book-which you can earn-called "Because I Care" using Versamark ink (first time I have used Versamark). Sprinkle Clear Embossing Powder (again a first time use), shake off the excess and heat until melted. Sponge the edges with Certainly Celery Ink. Focal image uses the same hydrangea inked with Old Olive (be sure to clean the Versamark off ) and stamped onto Certainly Celery cardstock. Using a cotton swab and Old Olive ink add some touches of color around edges. Then mat twice with Basic Black and Old Olive cardstocks. On the bottom added 3/4" strip of Old Olive cardstock, stamped the border image along bottom edge, also from "Because I Care" stamp set, using SU's Whisper White Craft ink, added a thin strip of black ribbon which I had to give it a more vintage look. The sentiment to is from the "Because I Care" stamp set inked with Basic Black ink and stamped on So Saffron cardstock. Punched with the Large Oval punch and sponged edges with So Saffron ink. Stampin' Sisters In Christ #46 Challenge 2nd

I was in a masculine mood. This is my second entry in SSIC where they want blue used. Very simple to make. Using SU Basic Black, whisper White, and Brillaint Blue (Retired) CS, stamped the motorcycle from the Summer Mini. Then I used SU Watercolor Pencils, blue on the bike, black on the tires & seat, and gray on the spokes and engine trying to give it a chrome effect.

Happy 4th of July weekend, a little late. The challenge for SSIC this week is to use blue somewhere. This month at church I am doing the T.E.A.M. Kids doing morning worship & I needed something to give to them afterwards. Sinjce yesterday was the 4th, I bought pacakges of lifesavers rolled in SU Brillaint Blue (retired), using the Red, White, and Blue jumbo roller with Night of Navy ink cartridge over Whisper White and then tied with Real Red Grosgrain ribbon. The top is Real Red CS just cut at intervals.

This weeks challenge for Tuesday Taggers is flowers. I just received the new Sneak Peek package from Stampin' Up! and it had in it one of the new hostess stamp set, Because I Care. It is a lovely set. I needed a birthday card so using that along with Birthday Bliss set. The cardstock is Pixie Pink, Brushed Silver, and Pretty in Pink. Pansy Candle Favors

Wedding season is here and if you need an expensive favor, bridal shower door prize, or table setting this little candle is for you. I bought them at Dollar Tree. Used the Island Oasis DSP cut 12" L x 1 1/2" W for the wrap. Punched Butterfly Punch so each would have 2, spritzed them down, applied ink refill (I tried to dry with a hair dryer and I actually had butterflies flying across my kitchen!!) and then rolled with a wooden skewer that you find in the grocery store . I decided you should let them dry overnight before punching hole through to add brad as they are quite fragile (like the flower itself). Then using a black marker draw pansy vein look, add brad to both pansy and wrap. Attach wrap with double sided tape. And Voila you have a nice favor that all will like and looks like you spent a fortune on it. I hope you enjoy and Happy Stampin' until we stamp again, Lynette

Think Popsicle Time

It's the unofficial start to Summer. So what better way to relax on a hot July day then with a Popsicle. This design was in the latest Cardmaker Magazine and simple to make. All you need is a corner rounder, cardstock, ribbon, scallop punch, and popsocle sticks.

The first one used SU Close to Cocoa and Whisper White Cardstock. Use the Scallop Punch in corner like you have taken a bite. I added my own little flare by adding the WW in that corner to make it look like vanilla ice cream inside. Chocolate Chip Ink to stamp on the Birthday Bliss sentiments. Attached to front the sentiment with Vanilla Hodgepodge. Added ribbon and then spritzed with the new Vanilla Smooch, also in the Summer Mini to give them a frosty, just out of the freezer look .

The second made to look like my favorite popsicle, Dreamsicle. Only difference used the new Tropical Party Stamp and Island Oasis DSP found in the Summer Mini. Apricot Appeal CS and More Mustard Ink.

Pansy Candle Jar Wrap--#2 Flutter By Wednesdays #110

My creative juices were at work. Again getting ready for Saturday. I ran across this jar candle and wanted to take it with me but you know us SU people,of course, I had to decorate it!!! Using a scrap of Pretty in Pink cardstock I stamped with Pretty in Pink and Pixie Pink the Dream du Jour Stamp Set butterflies and colored in with SU's watercolor pencils. The pansies were made using the The Butterfly Punch, Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, and Crushed Curry Ink Refills with a brad in the center. Aren't they cute? Flutter By Wednesday #110

The challenge this week is flowers and butterflies. I am doing a Spring Carnival this Saturday at William Byrd Middle School from noon til 4:00 so if you are in that area please stop in. I needed something to put my door prize pens and business cards. I always try to go in the local Goodwill store to see what they have, I have found a lot of stuff to use for storage of my SU supplies, Ifound this cute little wooden holder for 70 cents. I thought I will go home and embellish it a little with some SU!! Of course. Using scraps, KEEP YOUR SCRAPS THEY ARE VALUABLE. Using Cottage Wall DSP which has both flowers and butterflies, I traced the front of the shelves and adhered with double sided tape (I couldn't get anything else to stick), the butterflys are the Butterfly Embosslit, and scraps from are the Scallop Oval and the Large Oval punches I hope you enjoy.

With all the new mini catalogs in addtion to our BIG Idea Book I know it can get a little confusing (even for me) as to which catalog has the stamp set you wanted to order, which are still available, and which have been retired. I have posted a sidebar on which you can click to see what has been carried over from both the Holiday and Occasions Minis. I hope this helps you.

Make it a hurricane..you can tell I love Alan Jackson!!! OK, I cased this from Gretchen Barron's blog. This is using the Tropical Party Stamp Set, the Island Oasis Designer Paper in the new Summer Mini Catalog, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, and Tempting Turquoise cardstock and Classic Ink. The saying on the circles are punched from 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" and stamped with the Think Happy Thoughts Stamp Set. So Saffron Grosgrain Striped ribbon and linen thread finish it off. It looks harder than it was to make.

Layer 1- 5 1/2" x 8 1/2 " folded in half
Layer 2- 4" x 5 1/4"
Layer 3- 2" x 4" attach with adhesive and put ribbon around the seam
Layer 4- 2 1/4" x 2 1/2" attach with Stampin' Dimensionals
Layer 5- 2" x 2 1/4" add bow and tag
Layer 6- Inside 4" x 5 1/2" stamp corner

A Freshman's Card

This is so cool!! I did a workshop several weeks ago and the hostess had never stamped before. She and her mother had previously attended one at my church, ordered the Country Living Stamp Set that was in the Occasions Mini and got hooked...it is addicting. She booked a workshop where she had a good turn out and got a booking. The next week I went to the mailbox where I found this cute little thank you card she had made. The paper is from the Country Living and the stamp she used is the Country Morning hostess set I had given to her as a Hostess gift. The watercolor pencils are Crayola from Michaels (and she apologized for that) and not having a punch she cut the edges by hand. I was so proud. Hummingbird with Watercolors-Stampin' 411 #146 & Stampin' 411 Color #118

I am not to pleased with this card. It is working for 2 challenges: the sketch is Stampin' 411 & the color scheme Stampin' 411 Color Inspiration. These are colors that I am not really fond of and never used before, especially not together, so this challenge made me challenge myself as well. Using More Mustard as the base (I also used my new Big Shot-practice run), 2nd and 4th layers are Creamy Carmel was punched with the Scallop Trim Border, 3rd layer is Garden Green, and 5th is Ruby Red. Using SU's Spring Song Stamp Set then coloring in with SU's Watercolor Pencils that I just received and then going over the stamped image with a small wet artist brush, let dry and then assemble. The ribbon is SU's Whisper White Taffeta. I hope this looks better to you then to me. Happy Stampin' until we stamp again, Lynette

OK, I cheated a little here on this card-but it is so springy!! It is from SU's Simply Sent Card Selection page 170-#115704 $42.95 in the BIG Idea Book. For all you people out there who says they are not crafty this set is for you; this is the way to get started. It comes with everything you need to make 8 cards, the stamp set, Aqua Brush (which gives a watercolor effect), 3 Stampin' Spots Inks (Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive, and Chocolate Chip), 5/8" Very Vanilla Grosgrain ribbon, 1/4" Old Olive Grosgrain ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots, and Very Vanilla 4 1/4"x4 1/4" envelopes. All cardstock is prefolded and precut for you. Very easy to follow instructions are enclosed. The kit will make 10 cards in 2 different designs.

This week Flutter by Wednesday wants colors of blue, green, and white with butterfly. I made this cute little post it note card Monday night at our SU demo group meeting. The colors are Taken with Teal, Certain Celery and Whisper White. Used the Scallop Circle and Scallop Trim Border Punches. Whisper White 1/4 Grosgrain ribbon and the Vintage Vogue Stamp Set. This not only cute to give as a gift but to leave on your desk at work.

Corey's Pirate Birthday Card

I have to order something for young men. My nephew is turning 11 on April 7th and we are doing his birthday this weekend (did not know this until Thursday night). NO CARD!! NO STAMPS!! So I whipped this up today using SU's Basic Black and Whisper White cardstock. The clipart is from the website Kid's Turn Central which I hand cut out (like old fashioned paper dolls). The top picture is the outside and the bottom is the inside. I will better prepared for the young men in the family next time.

OK, March has come and gone belive it or not and what a crazy month it was. As you can see have been away from my blog for awhile doing some Spring cleaning. So time to regroup. This simple (SSC #31 Clean & Simple) little card is working for 3 three challenges. The color choice is Stampin' 411 #116 (SU's Cardstock Basic Black, Regal Rose, Old Olive, & Rose Red). The stamp set is SU's Hello Again in Basic Black Classic ink and the ribbon is from the Occasions Mini (which ends April 30th) Old Olive Taffeta. The button is one I had here at the house. And of course, don't forget the little butterfly in the corner!!!

This card should get you in the Spring mood...I love this paper. It is SU's Sweet Pea Designer Set from the Occasions Mini. It has so many butterfly designs--LOVE IT!!!! I digress..this card is for Flutter By Wednesday which is to use colors purples, yellows, and orange kinda of like Tinkerbell picture on their blog. I attached the designer paper to Whisper White Cardstock, the ribbon is from Shelli's Signature Collection again from the Occasions Mini 5'8" Satin Pretty in Pink. The white flower on the bow is from a package of vintage like buttons from Joann's Fabrics. I hope you enjoy this fluttery card.

Took time off to try to clean my messy house-challenges take over your days!!!!! The snow has finally melted and ground dried so maybe my floors will stay clean. This one is for Stampin' Sisters in Christ and it was free reign and to remember that God gave us a gift (no matter how good or bad we think we are) based on the scripture of Colossians 3:17. So we are going to celebrate my Dad's b'day on Saturday and to go along with his gift I made this little bookmark (my gift) to tuck inside because like me he loves to read. Using SU's Textured Paper Very Vanilla, Designer Series Paper Patterns III (Hostess Set) for the bottom. The fish and bird are from SU's retired set Backwoods stamped in Classic Basic Black and Old Olive. The ribbon is from Shelli's Signature Collection from the Occasions Mini 5/8" Satin Old Olive.

Pink & Black-The Rainbow Lady's #91 & Flutter By Wednesday #98

This has been a crazy week so only 2 challenges I have gotten to do. This one works for The Rainbow Lady's #91 (one piece of black, ribbon, circle, one or more stamp, & fairy) & Flutter By Wednesdays #98. Using SU's Basic Black CS as 1st layer, then Pretty in Pink layereed on top after applying the Eyelet Border Punch. I did not have a fairy I used a butterfly. For my one stamp the Butterfly Accent from the Occasions Mini in Classic black Ink. Using the 1" and 3/4" Circle Punches for the flower and a pink brad from the Soft Subtle Brads for the center. The ribbon is 1/2" Pretty in Pink Striped Grosgrain is run through the punches form the Slit Punch and the oval from the Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware. The flower and the butterfly punched from the Butterfly Punch is out of Shades of Spring Designer Paper also found in the Occasions Mini.

The weekend is here and it is supposed to be in the 50's!!! This little card is wroking for 5 challenges. ABC was to use one paper (12x12 designer front and back counted as one) I used my new, this worked for Our Creative Corner as the challenge was to use something new, SU's Shade of Spring Designer Paper in the Occasions Mini. My Time to Craft was green plus one using the green side as my base then the purple side as the plus one for 2nd layer which I punched the edges with the Pinking Hearts Border and Corner Punches. Flutter By's challenge was butterflies with hearts and Creative Belli was hearts. Using the scrap paper to punch out the hearts and butterflies. The punches used were the Butterfly, Small Heart, Pinking Hearts Border, and Pinking Hearts Corner (last 3 from the Occasions Mini). The green polks dot ribbon is out of the Ribbon Original package.

Happy Wednesday. I have a workshop next week and am going to demonstrate this card. It also worked for 3 challenges: Cupcake Craft #78 Simple, The Pink Elephant #54 Use ribbon, sweet, and simple, and A Spoonful of sugar #91 Spring. Using SU's cardstock Certain Celery as the base layer, 2nd layer Pretty in Pink, 3rd layer Blushblossom (which doesn't show in picture), 4th layer Very Vanilla. Usinbg Classic Ink Basic Black stamped the flowers from Hostess Set Country Morning colored in with different shades of Stampin' Pastels. The saying is from the Picture This Hostess Set Occasions Mini.

Yes this is a messy card on purpose. You see my name was drawn for week 2-2-2010 Tuesday Taggers winner (I could not belive it!!) & they asked me to design a messy card. You know this was harder than I thought it would be. All I did was take leftovers & scraps gluing to Whisper White CS & then stamping the dog with the wet feet in Classic Ink Basic Black (which mine has had since January) with SU's D is for Dog set the dog's head is not fully on one sheet but this is not supposeds to be a perfect card.

2010 Olympic Symbol: Challenges of Stamping 411 Color #110, One Stop Craft Challenge #67, & Catch the Bug Challenge

Happy snowy Monday to SW Virginia again....just think SPRING!!! As you know the Winter Games started last week so the theme to Catch the Bug was Olympics. I incorporated that into the color scheme for the Stamping 411 colors of SU's So Saffron, Brocade Blue, & Certain Celery. They worked perfect with the symbol which I printed off on Whisper White CS. The design is for the One Stop Craft Challenge which asked for 2 layers, 3 embellishments, ribbon w/ scalloped border, & text in corner. The only stamp set I used was the flag from the Service & Sacrifice set by using Classic Inks of Crushed Curry (Gold Medal), Basic Gray (Silver Medal), & Dusty Durango (Bronze Medal) then cutting out & attaching to ribbon with scotch tape.

Chocolate & Pink Valentine

Guess what? It's not snowing!!!!! But the wind is blowing like crazy...up to 60 mile hour gusts!!! I am using this card for 4 challenges: Flutter By Wednesday, Colour Q, Lord Have Mercy Tuesday's Sketch, & My Time to Craft. The colors are for Colour Q (Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Regal Rose, Whisper White, & Blush Blossom. The design is for Lord Have Mercy Challenge. Using SU's new Heart Accent Stamp (Occasions Mini Catalog) stamped it in Chocolate Chip on the Close to Cocoa first layer, then used 2nd layer of Blush Blossom, & then used the new stamp set Whimiscal Words (OM catalog) on the Regal Rose layer also in Chocolate Chip. Then stamped the Butterfly Accent on Whisper White, punched out with the Butterfly Punch, ran through Paper Crimper, put on the little X's & O's ribbon for body & attached. Used the Full Heart, Small Heart (OM Catalog) & Heart to Heart Punches. The small heart is out of Designer Series Paper Christmas Cocoa.

Masculine Valentine

Last one for the day. A lot of challenges completed. The challenge for One Stop Challenge #66 was to use the colors of Apple Green, Clotted Cream, & Chocolate Chip. Since this was male card (Our Creative Corner Challenge) I thought what perfect colors & also incorporate the Stamping 411 #137 sketch design. The deer sketch if from my father that he drew for me to use years ago for a patch so I made one of these cards to give to him in March for his birthday to see if he remembers it. I stamped SU Very Vanilla (didn't have Clotted Cream) the stamp out of the retired set of Backwoods in Chocolate Chip, overlayed with Green Galore (I thought looked like a green apple), Chocolate Chip, DSP Chirstmas Cocoa, & colored deer using Blender Pen & Pastels. You can't see (should have used a different color ink but I oculd see it just looking at it) used the Valentine stamp out of Holiday Best in Chocolate Chip Ink attached with Soft Suede Polka dot grosgrain ribbon. Used the Horizontal Punch for ribbon.

Chinese Valentine

Duh, I just had a blonde moment...had everything typed & hit the wrong button & deleted it. Let's tyr again!!!

This worked for 3 challenges: C.R.A.F.T Challenge (Love/Valentine), Crafts 4 Eternity (Sketch using red & hearts), & Cupcake Craft Challenge. The squares were made using SU's DSP Christmas Cocoa (I have gotten a lot of use from that for Valentines) & attached to Whisper White CS. I stenciled on Whisper White the Chinese symbol for love & the word love using a Blender Pen to color in with SU's Pastel Real Red. The only stamping was with the I {Heart} Heart Stamp Set using Classic Ink Real Red onn Pixie Pink CS then punching out with the Heart to Heart Punch then tying with Linen Thread.

This card took care of 5 challenges, Stampin' Sisters in Christ (marriage Scipture: Mark 10: 7-9), ABC (N for New), Secret Crafters Saturday (monchrome & white), The Pink Elephant (Valentines), Tuesday Taggers (love is all around). The monochrome (one color different tones) I went with my favorite color of purple. Cardstock SU Lavender Lace (under the purple lace), Lovely Lilac, & Whisper White. Using the new SU Love Bug stamp set & Wide Oval Punch I used Lavender Lace Basic Ink for the stamping (I think if you enlarge it will show better), Eyelet Border Punch used on edge & then one of the large Filigree silver Brads in corner. Lace is from Walmart.

This was not quite what I was hoping for-one of those ideas that went farther South!!! Anyway enough of the corny jokes...my husband is a big Neil Diamond fan so I thought do something diiferent for Valentines then red. Usinbg his song Heartlight I used SU Whisper White cardstock & graduating from dabbing on Basic Black, to Basic Grey, to Yoyo Yellow as the light came on. The heart was punched from Yoyo Yellow cardstock & a SU dimensional used to give it lift. I then added the line from the song, "Turn on your heartlight".

The Challenge this Wednesday was just to have a butterfly & I love butterflies. Hopefully Spring will soon get here & people will be getting their gardens ready so I did something a little different this week & will also be using it at my next workshop as a Make & Take. Very easy to do. This was a CASE from a swap idea. I stamped the background using Pretty Petals stamp which has butterflies on it in SU Lavender Lace on Very Vanilla Cardstock which was cut in half long ways then scored that in half to make the pocket. The Dreams saying & Butterfly stamp in Certain Celery is from Dreams du Jour Stamp Set punched out using 1 3/4" Hole Punch & glued on. Well stampers here we go again another winter storm is supposed come in tomorrow and bring about another 10" of snow. A friend from Sunday School called that she was calling everyone because she missed seeing us because church has been cancelled the last 2 weeks & probably again this Sunday. I made this card to take care of 6 challenges this week. The colors were different & I was not sure what they would look like togerther, but the funny thing is that the ribbon I picked upat Micheal's yesterday if you click the picture to enlarge you will see that it these colors in it & I did not realize it when I bought it. They are SU's Tempting Turquoise, Pretty in Pink, & Chocolate Chip.
Stamping the large heart with Chocolate Chip ink & then restamping without reinking for effect..the small love heart was done the same way. Using the Aqua Painter I colored in the bear with Chocolate Chip Stampin' Pastels.

This card worked for the three challenges above. The design worked for Stamp 411 & 365 Super Sketchy Sunday. Stampin' Sisters in Christ this week was for the children & the scripture Matthew 18:4

"Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of Heaven."

I used the scripture with the little girl hugging her puppy dog whis I thought showed the basis of being a child--just simple lives to hug their best friend & no worries. I used Stampin' Pastels technique of scrapping off a little of the colored chalk, a few drops od water from the Aqua Painter, & then a couple of drops from Crystal Effects mixing together then applying with the form brush in the pastels let dry & you can't tell it in the picture but this gives it a shiny effect.  The Barely Banana was to tie into her hair. Then dapping Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, & Rose Red ink to white cardstock using a paper towel.

Amazing Grace-Our Creative Corner Challenge Music

When I saw this challenge I immediately thought of my favorite hymn Amazing Grace. I can remember my grandmother singing this as she was doing her quilting or crocheting. I have a cross stitich kit to do & in it was the cover showing what the finished stitching is to look like, it has pinks, greens, & a deep purple inthe flowers, I copied it on Whisper White cardstock, then took some of my Aida cloth (this idea I got from another challenger) stamping it with Rich Razzleberry & attaching to Whisper White. Tryinbg to match the colors as close as possible, I took Rich Razzleberry & Old Olive Cardstock where I attached the song. The angel attached to the ribbon (Walmart) is from Oriental Trading bead making pin kit.

Lollipops is the theme for this weeks Crazy$Challenge. So what better way to do then heart shaped for Valetines. There is very little stamping on this card for all of you who like to stamp but several different punches were used. The scalloped edge was made with SU's new Scallop Trim Border Punch in SU's new design & the paper is Welcome Neighbor DSP both only found in the Sale-a-bration catalog where hostesses, just buying, & new recruits can earn FREE merchandise until April 30th. You can't read the stamp over top of the big heart lollipop which is from the new Something Sweet that says "that was so sweet of you".

Well it is another big snowy day here in Goodview-we have not Thad nay big snows for over 10 years & now 2 in 1 month. They are saying at least 10-12" again. I have stocked up on sugar, canned milk, & vanilla to make me snow ice cream. So with the snow what better to do then challenges!!! This card actually took care of 3. One Stop wanted personal so I made this to send to my friend, Cheryl, who has both a Yorkie (Precious) & cat (Loverboy). I copied the picture from the Valentines candy box sending to her on cardstock & then cut it out. The red layer & hearts I used Christmas Cocoa DSP (who says you have to just use it at Christmas). It is larger than the card so that is for Saturday Spotlight & of course the hearts for Secret Crafter. There is no stamping on this just cutting & punching.

Colour Q #17 & Creative Belli Blog #83

The card actually worked for the 2 challenges above (Colour Q's Real Red, Taken with Teal, Bashful Blue, Whisper White, & Basic Black & Creative Belli's Hearts theme). At first I was not sure about this color scheme but after putting it together I liked it. I did not want to over use the paper part so instead I stamped in Classic Basic Ink Wandering Words Stamp Set. The three hearts is from I {Heart} Hearts Stamp Set in the OMC that I stamped on Real Red using Craft Whisper White Ink, punched out with the Heart to Heart Punch & using Mini Glue Dots & Stampin Dimensionals to place. The smaller heart, again using the new Small Heart Punch in the OMC, I left open for the teal to show through. The red lace ribbon I had left over & used the Horizontal Punch so could run it through to hold in place. This was simple to make.

I loved the soft colors for this challenge, Soft pinks, soft blues, white, & silver. On SU's Whisper White I used the melted crayon effect using a pale pink & blue. Then using the Butterfly Punch on Pretty in Pink (ran it through paper crimper & attached a white button in the middle ) & Bashful Blue. I did not have anything silver so I did what the Marines do, "Adapt & Overcome", I used aluminum foil on the edge of the card for effect. Stamping Flight of the Butterfly in Pixie Pink on the Bashful Blue. The ribbon believe it or not, my Shih Tzu's groomer had used in his hair & I didn't like it (looked to girly); but, it actually has the blues & pinks in it.

Tye Dye Hearts-Stamp 411 Color Challenge #108

Now that I am back from vacation I am trying to get back in the challenge swing. GROOVEY!! That is what I felt like after I finished this card. This week's Stamp 411 Color Challenge brought back shades of youth when I tied dyed shirts to pillowcases, The colors were a challenge but fun using Night of Navy, Green Galore, & Yoyo Yellow.  I tried using the bleach effect but did not like the way it looked so I turned the white over & it had gone through & I liked that look so I went with it.  The first layer is Night of Navy, Yoyo Yellow next. Then using SU's new Small Heart punch out of the new OMC, punched out small hearts where I tied Night of Navy ribbon through one before gluing to the Yoyo Yellow layer.  The stamp set is SU's I {Heart} Hearts Stamp Set also from the OMC.

Ok so this was done in as a quickie & I had to do one more this week before I go on vacation ...I was on 365 Challenge and saw that home was the theme. I everything I used either came out of SU's Sale-a-bration catalog that goes through March 31st or the Occasions Mini & I used the new clear stamping blocks #A & B.   I love them--just have to figure out how to clean them on the pad because they keep coming off & I get more ink on me then was on the stamp..LOL!!! The punches are SU's new design..they will take a little getting used too.

The theme "BIRTHDAY" challenge #49 for The Pink Elephant this week getting a head start on them for the new year. Using a picture that I copied onto white cardstock because of the colors that I loved. This card is girly but can be used from teens up. The only stamping is from the Heard from the Heart Set. The gold ribbon is actually irresident (I know that is not spelled right!!) but you can't tell it in the picture.

What woman (and maybe some men!) doesn't like to shop? I used a picture from a cross stirch kit catalog of mine which says "Born to Shop, forced to Work" copying it on white cardstock and went from there withe colors, then framing it out with white & Regal Rose.  I stamped hearts with SU's I {Heart} Hearts Stamp Set in the Occasions Mini with Rich Razzleberry and Melon Mambo punching them with the Heart to Heart Punch; of course, "Love" goes to the old saying "I heart shopping."

The Kiss-Saturday Spotlight Challenge #SSHP13 & SCSC#65

The making of this card did tell me one thing..I NEED TO BUY AN OVAL PUNCH!!! It worked for two challenges this week...Saturday's Spotlight #SSHP13 which said to have Love With No Hearts and Secret Crafters Saturday Challenge #65 design. The picture does not do the colors justice. The inset picture I found in one of my cross stitch kit catalogs and copied it onto Whisper White cardstock (ideas come from any where I found out). It has pale blues, purples, greens, & hint of yellow (that is why I used to Barely Banana as the frame to bring out the yellow in the peacock feahers). I took the Bashful Blue and using a paper towel dabbed on Certainly Celery, Lavender Lace, Crushed Curry, & Brilliant Blue for effect to pick up more of the peacock feather colors. After really looking at it I am going to order it to cross stitch because I love the colors.

Burst of Petals-Stampn' 411 Color Challenge & OCC (3D Challenge)

My brain is frazzled & frozen today. I had a workshop at 10:30 & then wanted to come home & work on some challeanges. This one worked for two different ones (Stampin' 411 Color Challenge & OCC 3D Challenge).

This color scheme reminded me of the tropical waters you see in pictures that is why I used a flower inspiration. The colors for the color challenge were Brilliant Blue, Green Galore, & Tempting Turquoise. I also used Crushed Curry Classic Ink to give it a little more punch of color (like it needed anymore!!).
Using Pick A Petal Stamp Set, I also stamped Brilliant Blue & Green Galore on Whisprer White the crimped the paper, then stamping the same colors on their respective cardstock (except the Crushed Curry) cut the petals out crimping a few & placed with Stampin' Dimensionals for the 3D effect. The center was the solid round stamp in the set cut out & glued on with a dimensional.

Love Bird Card

Happy New Year, Stampers. Can you believe it is 2010 already, a new decade! Seems like everyone was just going crazy over Y2K..

The first card of this new year was for the Color Challenge #104 on Stamping 411. Yiou can't really see the colors from the picture. The colors used are SU Certainly Celery, Apricot Appeal, and Rose Red Cardstock.

I used Stampin' Pastels Rose Red for the birds accented with Black. The birds and branches (Certainly Celery-they kind of look like lizards in the picture!!!) were punched from the new SU Extra Large Two-Step Bird found in the Occasions Mini Catalog. I used the Eyelet Border Punch and the small heart from Heart to Heart Punch from Rose Red Cardstock. You can't see it, but; I used L:inen thread to tie a knot in the middle of the heart. I know it is a littlle early for Valentines; but, I tired a challenge #131 in Stamping 411 with the Operators this week andI just decided to go with this theme. It is the next big celebrated holiday!!!

All I used was SU Regal Rose, Whisper White, and Pretty in Pink cardstock. Then stamped in Real Red the small Love heart in the new I {Heart} Hearts Stamp Set from the Occasions Mini Catalog that goes on sale January 5th. Using 3/4" Circle Punch, tying this to 1/2" Pretty in Pink Grosgrain Striped Ribbon with the Linen thread. I then used Chocolate Chip Ink and the Wandering Words Stamp Set from the Holiday Mini Catalog (this stamp will no longer be available after January 4th). Again, using the I {Heart} Hearts Set I stamped 2 small hearts punching them out with SU new Small Heart Punch (also in the Occasions Mini), glued them over the one of the larger hearts that I cut out after stamping with Craft White Ink gluing to corner.

Two More Last Minute Christmas Cards

I know Christmas is Friday, but sometimes your best ideas come to you while you are sleeping!!! This is one. Who would think black & pink for Christmas cards? Elegant colors together. Two simple, last minute cards to make using just 3 paper colors, 2 one stamp sets, & 2 ink colors.

All were made from SU Pretty in Pink, Basic Black, & Pixie Pink cardstock, SU Basic Black & Pixie Pink Classic Ink.

The Merry Christmas card used the punch out part form the Joy card below layerd over the Basic Black, I took a strip of Pretty in Pink & glued to the back of the black for contrast, then using the Delightful Decorations Stamp Set & the Four the Holidays Stamp Set (which both are in the Holiday Mini & no longer available after Jan. 4th) inked in Basic Black. Tearing the edge for texture.

The Joy card has Pixie Pink as the base, using the Eyelet Punch all around the Black layer, then using Pretty in Pink I again used the Delightful Decorations Stamp Set stamping in Basci black on Pixie Pink cardstock then using the Ornament Punch (Holiday Mini) adhered it with Stampin' Dimensionals, using the Paper Piecring Tool & Mat Pack made the string. Before I glued this to the Black layer I used the Horizontal Punch on the edges so the the ribbon (which I already had) would fit.

I made the Joy card first & then scraps (save our scraps my Stampers because you never know what might come out of them) to make the Merry Christmas card.

Well, Christmas is upon us so I won't be posting as much until after the first of the year. But I had to show you this little card I mad for my niece's baby shower.

The second picture is the inside where I used SU Wisper White cardstock, Eyelet Punch, Tea Party Designer Paper, Teddy and Train Stamp Set, and Bermuda Blue Classic Ink.

This first is the outside of the card. I used SU Certain Celery, Whisper White, and Apricot Appeal Cardstock, Eyelet Punch, Teddy and Train Stamp Set, Certain Celery 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Classic Black Ink, So Saffron and Brilliant Blue Stampin' Pastels. You can't see it too good in the picture, but on the teddy bear I took the So Saffron Pastel scraped a little into a jar (this will not hurt your pastel chalk), dropped a little of Stampin' Crystal Effects and then used SU Aqua Painter to put a little water in this, stirred together and brushed in the body of the bear using one of the applicators in the Pastels. OK all of you VT & UVA fans..the game is this weekend!!! Who is going to win? My family all like UVA but my husband is VT, me I like Marshall. So for all of you I made cards (no stamping involved in these at all). There is A VT, UVA, and one with both teams just in case one family member likes one and one likes the other. I used SU Night of Navy, Pumpkin Pie, and Bravo Burgundy cardstock. Along with SU Linen thread, SU Stamp;in Dimensionals, Oval and 3/4" punches. The team paper and stickers are a scrapbooking kit I ordered online from a collegiate craft supplier. So no matter who you are pulling for, good luck to both. Happy Stamping, Lynette

Can you believe that it is Christmas already? This year has flown by, my grandmother always said, "Time flies the older that you get", and you know she was right. This card was in our SU demonstrator monthly magazine (it always has good ideas if your creative juices aren't flowing). Veterans Day

November 11th is Veterans Day so this card is to thank all of our soliders, past and present, who have defended this great and grateful country. We had a very moving service in church yesterday for our veteran members, it was a Kleenex moment. To make this I used SU Night of Navy and Whisper White paper, Courage Stamp Set and Service/Sacrifice Stamp Set, SU Classic Inks Basic Black and Real Red, Stampin' Pastels Real Red, Old Olive, So Saffron, Brilliant Blue, and Tempting Turquoise. For the flag on the ribbon (which I hate to say this I bought at a local store because I was using it in another project and I wanted the red, white, and blue effect) I cut out and glued to back a piece of paper to slide over the ribbon then put a Stampin' Dimensional on it to secure in place. As one of our veterans said yesterday, "Freedom is not free". God Bless America and our soldiers. Happy Stamping, Lynette

Feminine Elegance

There is a lady, and when I say lady I mean it in every sense of the word, in my church that I dearly love, she was my Sunday School teacher, and her birthday is the 12th. I thought of this simple and girly card for her. I used SU Pretty in Pink and Designer Paper Tea Party, Eyelet Punch (which I was very disappointed as it did not show as well as I was wanting), along edge of the Designer Paper, and 1/2" Grosgrain Ribbon Striped Pretty in Pink. Well Daylight Savings Time ends this weekend and Halloween is Saturday so I guess that means Fall is officially here. I have posted 3 cards this time using fall and Thanksgiving themes.

The first is Fall Foilage. Using SU colors Mellow Moss, Soft Suede, Really Rust, More Mustard, and Very Vanilla. Two stamp sets Branch Out (which is on the Dormant List #113200) and Hostess Set Holiday Best, 1/4" Very Vanilla Grosgrain Ribbon, Word Punch, and Small Oval Punch.

Second is Happy Thanksgiving. Using SU colors Whisper White, More Mustard, Old Olive cardstock, Classic Ink Chocolate Chip, Dusty Durango, More Mustard, Old Olive, and Rich Razzleberry. Falling Leaves Stamp Set, 1/16" and 1" Circle Punches, 1/2" Dusty Durango Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon, Linen Thread, and Stampin' Dimensions. It is to have the acron stamp punched out once with the 1" and the 1/16" just acron cut out and with Stampin' Dimensions put over the larger one and tied with the Linen Thread but my punches have not come in but it looks just fine as it is.

Third is Autumn Harvest. Using SU colors Dusty Durango, Soft Suede, Whisper White, Apricot Appeal. The Autumn Harvest Stamp Set used, 1/2" Soft Suede Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon, and Ticket Punch. Stamp your pumpkin once on the Whisper White then on Apricot Appeal cut it out and glue over top the one white for effect. Have a Happy Halloween and happy stamping, Lynette!!!

Well this did not turn out as I envisioned it. It was to be a bed with a bed tray holding tissues, book, and reading glasses. An old teddy bear on the bed. Not much stamping except on the picture above with SU Flight of the Butterfly Stamp Kit. It says, Sneezing, Coughing, Fever, Runny Nose. Rest & relax, get well soon. Top Dog

I know that Summer has come and gone (much to my dismay) so why the hot dog card you ask? This idea came about because of my pastor, Pastor Wayne. Huh? This past Sunday was Pastor Appreciation Day so my Sunday School Class gave him a roast. Well, he just loves hot dogs so this was my appreciation card I gave to him after my roast, what a fitting card for a roast! I used SU cardstock Soft Suede, More Mustard, and Real Red. Just using a hole punch for the onions glued on with SU Mini Glue Dots and then ran over that using SU Classic Ink More Mustard and Soft Suede to try to give a mustard and chili effect. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month & this year it hits close to home. My sister-in-law was diagnoized October 2008 (about 2 weeks before her 49th birthday) and a spot was found on her liver while doing preadmission tests. I am glad to say it will be a year and she is doing wondferful. In fact, down at Duke where she travels from here every other week for chemo, they told her that if they were just seeing her they would declare her cancer free. God does answer prayers. So these are for her.

The first is just SU Whisper White cardstock cut to fit in a 4x6 acrylic frame. I took a crumbled paper towel & dabbed on Pixie Pink Ink covering as much as the cardstock as you want. Then used the Butterfly punch on Pink Passion cardstock which I cut 5 3/4" long & 2" wide & using Basic Black Ink stamped the "One person...(Flight of the Butterfly Stamp Set #111564) beside it & then stamped the solid butterfly again using Pixie Pink Ink. Turn frame on side & slide in then added a piunk sticky pad.

The second is a 4x6 card using SU Passion Pink & Whisper White (5 1/2" long

& 2" wide). I cut the white with pinking shears & centered the white & glued. Using the butterfly punched out of the above project (recycle stampers) glued to white, again using Basic Black Ink stamped the "Courage...(Courage Stamp Set #115330), dabbed over both with the Pixie Pink paper towel some, & then added the pink ribbon symbol.

Black Tie Affair

Sorry for the lapse but was on vacation in Florida. Our neighbor watchs the house & waters plants for us while we are gone. We always give her a thank you gift when we get back. So I made this simple but elegant thank you card to go with the gift. I calling it the "Black Tie Affair" because it resembles a tuxedo. All I took was SU Whisper White cardstock folded to make a 4"x6" card, cut SU Basic Black cardstock 3" wide by 3 1/2" long glue to center, cut a piece of Whisper White 2 1/2" wide by 3" long glue to center of the black. Stamped with SU Elegant Thank You (#114484) in Classic Black Ink. Added black ribbon across bottom then made the black bow tie. I punched with the Butterfly Punch and added the red (SU Real Red) butterfly for a touch of colour left one wing up for effect & drew on the antennae. This can alos be used as an invitation. Melted Crayon Effects Card

I saw this technique on splitcoastampers.com (for more detailed go to their website) and love it. It is real easy to do. Here I took Stampin' Up's non-glossy white card stock and cut 81/2" length by 51/2" width. Folded the length in half. Wrap a iron with aluminum foil and heat it (no steasm). You then take heated iron and just scribble any color crayon you want on the aluminum. Swipe your folded card stock over the aluminum until you get the effect that you what. Then complete your card. I used Stampin' Up's Pink Passion cut 2" width layered over top of about an 1" of the white whic I tore and then ran over Stampin' Upo's Pixie Pink Cklassic Ink glued on card and then glued the Passion Pink piece leaving some of the white showing. The flowers were stamped in Pixie Pink and are out of the Pick A Petal Stamp Kit from Stampin' Up! I hope you enjoy. Happy Stamping-Lynette

This is my first attempt to stamp...I actually saw this image as an ad in one of my counted cross stictch magazines and thought that the element and simplicity would be a good place to start. I used Stampin Up's Soft Suede card stock cut 9 1/2" long and 2" wide. Measured up 2" form each end where I then cut Stampin Up's Green Galore using the first 3 marks on ruler and Snail Glued on. The butterflies and saying (one person can make a difference stamp) is Stampin Up's "Flight of the Butterfly", stamped on Yoyo Yellow & Green Galore with Razzleberry and Classic Black Inks. All I did for the orange and yellow dots was use a hole punch and glued on. I will improve with time.LOL!!!
